Electrical/Mechanical Standards Technician, Navy - 1554

GVI, Inc., a subsidiary of Three Saints Bay, LLC and a Department of Defense industry leader, is seeking an Electrical/Mechanical Standards Technician, Navy to support our Customer at the Underwater Sound Reference Division (USRD) located at the Naval Undersea Warfare Center located in Newport, RI.

Strong preference will be given to those candidates with experience/education in Electrical Engineering and Soldering.
Qualified Candidates will be expected to:

Provide support to Lab Technicians as required.
Construct components, sub-units, or transducers, hydrophones and projectors.
Troubleshoot and correct malfunction of failed transducers and pre-amplifiers, including soldering of small components and connectors.
Conduct various tests utilizing Signal Analyzers, Oscilloscopes, Function Generators, Meggohmetes.
Extract and compile engineering data from field notes, manuals, lab reports, etc., processing data, identifying errors or inconsistencies, selecting methods of data presentation.
Re-assemble hydrophones, transducers and projectors. Perform final insulation resistance and capacitance checks.
Prepare and package repaired hydrophones, transducers and projectors for shipment.
Position Requirements:

US Citizen.
Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance; candidates currently possessing an Active Secret clearance preferred.
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Minimum three (3) years related experience on electrical and mechanical assembly of electronic components.
Ability to Solder. (J-Standard Certified preferred)
Prior experience with Navy systems desired but not required.
Must have a valid U.S. driver's license.
Ability to frequently lift 50 lbs.
Excellent communication skills (verbal, written).
Excellent customer service skills.
