Luther Village, a retirement community located in Arlington Heights is seeking a full time General Maintenance Technician to join the maintenance team. Candidate will need knowledge and experience with heat pumps and will be responsible for preventative maintenance on building systems including identifying repair and/or replacement needs, installing, repairing, maintaining and upgrading HVAC and heat pump systems, equipment, refrigeration, air conditioning, air handling and kitchen equipment. This position will also assist the department with preventative maintenance, plumbing, electrical, painting and carpentry repairs in resident homes and Luther Village building and grounds.

This is a 40 hour a week full-time position Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm with health, dental, vision and 401k benefits. Must be available for rotating “on-call” weekends, holidays and after work hours.

Requirements
Applicant must be a High School graduate or GED equivalent, and possess an EPA Universal Refrigeration Certification and a R-410A Certification and have a current Driver’s License, without probationary restrictions. Writing, reading and communication skills at a high school level in English are required. Availability for weekend, holiday and after scheduled working hours on-call is mandatory. Employee must be able to supply their own basic hand tools.

Ability to lift and carry up to 75 lbs., bend, stoop, climb, and reach are required.
