BNY Mellon’s Pershing offers both Wealth Solutions for broker-dealers, registered investment advisors (RIA) and trust company clients, and Institutional Solutions for prime brokers and institutional broker-dealers.

Pershing’s Bank and Depository Balancing department serves as a key control area for the firm and is responsible for reconciling the firm’s bank (check deposit, disbursement, FedWire, ACH, USD & currency) and depository (DTCC, custodian, international local market, Euroclear, security position) accounts. Exciting opportunity for operations professional with banking and/or brokerage experience. SmartStream TLM, mainframe, Excel, SWIFT and BAI solutions employed.

Responsibilities:

Performing daily reconciliations, deciphering moderately complex exceptions between systems, clients, institutions, etc. for securities and/or cash and foreign currency
Leveraging internal and external technologies (including journal systems, bank portals and DTCC) and reports to research breaks and invoke processing
Communicating moderately complex break reports to either internal groups within the firm or correspondents outside the firm
Monitoring aging and resolution of breaks
Assisting more junior teammates when difficult exceptions are identified
Assisting in daily, weekly and monthly reporting using an understanding of the stock record and knowledge of basic accounting

The successful candidate will demonstrate/possess:

High School/secondary school or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required
Bachelors degree preferred
2-3 years of total work experience preferred
Experience in brokerage and/or banking operations preferred
Experience with the Microsoft Office product suite
