About the Job
Duties include:
• Assist to ensure packaging lines are running effectively and efficiently on a day to day basis, under the direction of the packaging shed management team.
• Liaise with the quality control officer on a day to day basis to ensure the correct quality standards are met.
• Set and control the operation of PLCs to obtain accurate performance which meet specifications and packing instructions.
• Have full knowledge of all the customer specifications and check against packing instructions and labelling.
• Have a full understanding of the traceability system.
• Ensure equipment is functioning to full potential and conduct general maintenance when required.
• Report major repairs and maintenance requirements promptly to the maintenance team.
• Follow Occupation Health & Safety, quality and food safety policies and procedures and help ensure all packing shed staff comply with same.
Skills/Qualifications and Experience Required for the Role

• At least a relevant AQF Diploma or equivalent OR 3 years employment experience as a machinery manager.
• Experience maintaining production/packing lines. Experience with high speed packing lines is highly regarded.
• A working knowledge of PLC controlled machinery/equipment with the ability to assist with basic programming or the capacity to develop that knowledge.
• Strong fault finding/problem solving ability.
• Track record of making improvements to increase operating efficiency.
• Strong work ethic and personal accountability with the ability to be self-directing for daily work.
• Sound IT skills.
• Ability to work positively within the operations team and work in collaboration with other teams.
• Willingness to be flexible with work hours, work on weekends and be on call for break downs.
• High level of commitment to health and safety, hygiene and food safety procedures and practices.

Salary: $57,800-$69,500 p.a. plus super
