Job Duties/Responsibilities:

• Experience in developing applications, testing and support production environment using mainframe technologies including but not limited: COBOL, JCL, CICS, and VSAM

• Participate in building technical designs, programming logic, and workflows

• Participate in code reviews and ensure the code written complies with the company standards and policies

• Experience using industry standard naming conventions, coding standards, problem solving skills and best practices

• Take initiative to research and resolve any technical issues/challenges while developing applications

• Prepare requirements and design documents

• Write unit tests (document and code) for the application packages

• Support proper unit testing of artifacts to ensure smooth transition to System Testing and User Acceptance Testing

• Apply healthcare domain knowledge to verify requirement and code development

• Support Production Operations/Maintenance as necessary

Job Requirements Mandatory Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field of study with at least 5 years’ experience as a Mainframe Developer

• Previous experience with State Medicaid/MMIS projects and/or healthcare

• Strong knowledge of all phases of application development – SDLC

• Strong knowledge of Mainframe application environment: COBOL, JCL, CICS, and VSAM

• Knowledge of databases such as DB2 or Oracle is a must along with SQL and stored procedures

• Should have prior experience in developing large-scale and complex applications in mainframe environment
