JOB SUMMARY

The Truck Driver is responsible for over-the-road transport of Litehouse Foods private fleet products to assigned destinations and pickup and delivery of other products.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES/KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Transporting finished goods and raw materials over land to and from manufacturing plants or retail and distribution centers
Inspecting vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance
Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions. Assist workers in loading and unloading truck
Document and log work/rest periods according to DOT regulations
Report defects, accidents, or violations
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Certifications: Possesses and maintains Class "A" CDL and current DOT medical certification
Six months to one-year related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
Associates degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school, trucking school diploma preferred
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules
Operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
Ability to drive long hours and travel regularly
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form
Ability to deal with problems to include troubleshooting
Must have excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
Ability to establish & maintain effective working relationships with all contacts inside and outside of the company

Occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions
The ideal candidate must be able to pass a background check and pre-employment drug test
